Phoenix Spartan

Finished a several week project, which I have named the Phoenix Spartan. The original design concept for this miniature was done on a sketchbook around November 2017. I wanted this miniature to not only keep in with a dynamic style, oft not found in Kingdom Death, but to also set it apart from common KDM miniatures.

Pieces used to create this model are as follows:

KDM Phoenix Armor Kit
Chest, pauldrons and faulds

KDM Sunstalker Armor Kit
Arms, legs and hands

MaxiMini
Helmet, Shield and Cloak

The miniature was surprisingly easy to "edit", and the main effort involved cutting the right leg at the knee joint in order to give it a running/jumping movement. While not initially part of the design process, the cloak was added to give the miniature some balkance, and add a feeling of movement.

A new blog, a new era

Welcome to my new hobby and miniature painting blog. As I continue to diversify my miniature painting and improve my skills as a painter - it is only natural to create a new blog. Some of you fellow followers may have seen my previous work on various forums, including but not limited to Flames of War (15mm WWII), Pendraken (10mm Napoleonics), Tactical Command (6mm Epic), and Warseer (6mm). This new blog-page attempts to regroup my work, as well as share techniques and tutorials.
